What is considered a micro wedding?
Micro weddings are small, intimate gatherings with less than 20 guests and operate on a short timeline. Micro weddings include the ceremony and sometimes a small reception. These are different than elopements. Here at Copper Cactus, under 19 invitations (households) is considered a micro wedding.
how to announce an elopement:
Elopements are ceremonies exclusive to the couple and sometimes two witnesses. Announcing your elopement can be before or after you have been married. Whether it's before or after, typically you'll send an announcement card to family and friends letting them know of your intimate nuptials and sometimes includes inviting them to a reception taking place in the future. If you plan to send your announcement to more than 25 households, please visit my invitation page for pricing.

micro wedding invitation timeline and process

Design Session (in-person or zoom)
3-4 months from wedding date
We meet for coffee (or your fave drink!) and we dive into samples of paper, color swatches, printing types, wax seals, ribbons- all the things! Together we come up with a design for your wedding invitations. You'll LOVE this day!

Proofs
1 week after your design session
You'll receive online proofs to look over your entire suite and the individual pieces allowing me to make changes, corrections and updates.

Assembly & Mailing
1-2 months before your wedding date
Once I receive your order I will assemble your invitations with all embellishments ordered- ribbon, vellum jackets, tassels, wax seals, envelope liners, etc. Once assembled, your invitations will be mailed to you to send to your guests.

First Impression
5-6 weeks before your wedding date
Your guests will receive their invitations in the mail and experience the first glimpse into your wedding, leaving them with anticipation and excitement!
06.
Micro weddings are usually a quicker turnaround time than full scale weddings. If you need your micro wedding invitations faster than this timeline, a rush fee may be applied.
Final Payment & Print
2 months before your wedding date
Once your final proof is approved your remaining balance is due and then your design is sent to print. All invitations are professionally printed using your preferred printing method. Printing and shipping typically is a two week timeframe.

Once your deposit is paid, we will schedule your in-person design session. The design session is typically scheduled 3-4 months prior to your micro wedding date.

Yes! About 80% of my couples prefer to meet in person to design their wedding invitations. The other 20% have been out-of-state couples. Working together in person allows us to connect and review your vision. I get to know your love story and can incorporate that into your design. We also go through samples and build your design from scratch. Plus in person cuts down on the proofing rounds and it's a fun appointment! Like the cake tasting appointment.
For clients more than 5 months from their wedding date, you have two payments: 33% at signing and the remaining balance when your final proof is approved. Clients booking under 5 months, 100% due at signing. There is a spot to pay with your card on the invoice online. Cards will have a $10 dollar fee each transaction. Zelle, cash and checks are also accepted with no fees.
