How to Make Your Wedding Unique and Unforgettable

Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and creating a unique and unforgettable experience for you and your guests is every couple’s dream. If you want to avoid a cookie-cutter wedding that looks like something you’ve already seen on Pinterest, try these three tips to create a unique and personalized celebration that reflects you and your partner’s style.

Look around you…

Seriously! Go to your favorite restaurants that have amazing interior design! Go through the fancy part of town that has beautiful display windows in their shops. Take inspiration from places that make you happy as a couple and I promise you your wedding will be unique and unforgettable.

I recently visited a cocktail bar in Downtown Phoenix and was so inspired by their moody and glam decor that if I was getting married again, I would try to replicate the designs and feeling that I had there for my wedding. Below are photos from the cocktail bar, The Rose Garden.

Take advantage of your wedding venue and its surroundings as a source of inspiration. Whether you’re getting married in a scenic garden or a historical building, incorporate elements from your surroundings into the wedding design. Consider using the local flora, fauna, and architecture to create a theme that is reflective of the location. For example, embrace the vibrant flowers if you’re in a garden or showcase the elegant architectural details through your decor choices.

The couple below incorporated their venue’s natural vine walls into their wedding reception tables and bar decor. Tlaquepaque in Sedona, Arizona has breathtaking grounds!

2. A Wedding Planner and Designer will create an unforgettable wedding

Bringing on board a professional wedding planner and designer can make all the difference when it comes to planning a unique and unforgettable wedding. These experts will ask for your ideal inspirations and colors for the wedding and then bring your vision to life in ways you may not even have thought of. Plus, they can help you personalize every aspect, from themes and decor to managing vendors and budgets, ensuring a stress-free and seamless planning process.

3. Pinterest – But in a New Way!

Here is the best way to use Pinterest. 

Create a wedding board and use it to collect ideas that resonate with you. These pins do not have to be of weddings. Try to focus on color palettes, your venue’s building architecture, landscape scenery, restaurant decor, and interior design.

Use this board as a base for your overall wedding look. After a couple months, you can go back through the board and *delete* pins that no longer resonate with you anymore and you’ll begin to see a common theme and even matching colors! 

How do you actually implement all of this?

So, how do you turn all of these ideas into a unique and unforgettable wedding?

Share your board with your wedding planner, designer, and vendors, so they can understand your style and preferences. Pinterest serves as a powerful communication tool, ensuring everyone is on the same page and working towards a unified vision.

Your florist will pull seasonal flowers in the colors of the landscape image you have, your DJ/entertainment team can provide uplights to illuminate the reception in the same moody lighting that your favorite restaurant has. Those window displays I bet had some table decor that you could pull inspiration from for your welcome table or centerpieces.
